Summer Is Here!

School is out, the days are long and hot... that can only mean one thing....
SUMMER IS HERE!!

We have a lot of plans this summer and got started off right when we went to So Jo Summer Fest. We let the kids go on a few rides and then watched the fireworks show.

We love our new fire pit. I love summer nights just sitting by the camp fire.

I love selfies apparently.

Let's be honest, though, if I didn't take my own picture, no one would ever know what I look like. I'm doing future generations a huge service by allowing them to know what the author of these wonderful blog books looks like.

I almost felt like I was on vacation in this picture... almost.
We had the cutest thing happen this month. We discovered a birds nest right outside our bedroom window. The momma bird laid 4 eggs and we got to watch the 4 baby birds hatch and grow every day. Brynnli was especially into the birds. Every morning she would wake up run to the window and then come running to us to give us an update. She would usually tells us, "the birdies are sleeping!" Then one day she came running to tell us to come watch because "the mommy birdie was giving hims babies some food... hims giving them noodles!" We loved watching them everyday and were really sad when they got big enough to fly out of their nest. Although some days Brynnli still runs to us to tell us she just saw the birdies and they are still sleeping.
Some other things we have been up to this month include:

Picnics in the backyard on a beautiful day.

Tyler has been working on and off on our shed project. It will be a while before its finished, but he is making a lot of good progress.
Makayla really wanted to do a Family Home Evening lesson, so we told her she could plan it. She gave us a lesson about being honest, then we made ladybugs out of strawberries and blueberries.

And lastly we drew a picture of ladybugs.

Daddy's work had a family Lagoon day, so we spent the entire day going on rides. Makayla still loves the big scary rides and all of them love the kiddie rides.

All three kids had swimming lessons in the beginning of the month. Makayla has been so worried about swimming lessons for a year now because of her scare last year, but she did so great. In fact, all of our kids did so well in their lessons!
Brynnli did great and learned how to float on her back and put her head in water.

Caden and Makayla's favorite part was free time when they could go down the slide.

We all headed up to Hanna Land because I was going to girl's camp with the Young Women and we were staying at Reid Ranch, which is just a few miles away from The Land. We all stayed one night at the cabin then Tyler and the kids took me up to camp and picked me up the next day.

While we were at The Land, Makayla got to mow the lawn for the first time by herself.
Taking Mommy up to camp!

Girls camp was great this year. I really liked where we stayed and felt like I got to know a lot of the girls just a little bit better this year.
We played a lot of card games and ate a lot.
See this pretty butterfly in the middle of the flowers? It kept hanging around us while we were trying to take pictures. I feel like it my have been trying to tell us something...
We got to celebrate Father's Day with THE BEST husband and dad around. Seriously, he is just the best. I feel like our marriage and family has become stronger over the last few years, and it is due in large part because of Tyler. He really is that amazing!

We had a Biggest Loser contest with our family that started back in February. It was between me and Tyler, Bruce and Tammy, Karly and Rico, and Ryan. The winner won $350... guess who the winner was?  This guy! Tyler lost about 30 pounds and I lost about 20!

Guess what Tyler decided to do with his winnings? Save it. Typical, huh?

All the cousins gearing up for the 4th of July with their matching outfits.
The weather is so weird here in Utah... we had a horrible hail storm come through that pretty much destroyed our flowers that were growing so well.

On top of all of our endowment and sealing events, Tyler and I had a date night to The Roof to celebrate our 9 year anniversary.

I've always loved this temple, but it has extra special meaning to me now.

The kids have been begging me to make slime, so we finally made it. It was slimy and gross, but the kids love it.

This girl! I just don't know what to do with her... she won't eat dinner, sneaks treats all day long, then begs me at 10:00 at night to make her a hot dog, cuties, and a pickle. I told her no. I'll let you guess how the rest of the conversation went...
We've spent a lot of days at the splash pad this summer. The kids have an absolute blast!

Anybody know who this blonde haired cutie is?

All of these summer activities usually leave us all feeling like this...

Tyler and I went to the Kenny Chesney concert. It was so good! I danced and sang along to every single song. Tyler may have started to wonder what he had done by agreeing to marry me for eternity when he saw me dancing and singing. This was the first Kenny concert Tyler has ever been to, and he was so incredibly fun and hott! I'll let you decide who I am talking about here.

The End...
