What Frozen Things Do In Summer

We melt.

We were off to our favorite new tradition... Going to Mesquite/ St. George for a quick weekend getaway to see a play at Tuchan. This year they were playing my favorite movie... Frozen.

We stopped at RC Willey first to get a new t.v. for our basement and as we were walking in I noticed our family was looking extra patriotic... A little early for 4th of July, but maybe they were just excited for Independence Day?

After we spent $6,000 on a new t.v and speakers for our basement, we headed down to St. George. We stopped for dinner at The Pizza Factory where Makayla and I had the best salad. And we can't forget the bread twists.

Then we were off to Tuchan for the play. I love the story of Frozen because it reminds me of the kids. Makayla is like Elsa, the perfectionist oldest daughter, Caden is like Olaf, the innocent, funny comedy relief, and Brynn is like Anna... wait, what? the spirited, optimistic, and caring youngest daughter.

We had great seats and the show was so cute. I loved the new music and all the funny lines. And you can't beat the beautiful backdrop of Tuacahn.

After the play we drove to Mesquite for our weekend stay. We ate lots of food, swam all day long, went to see Inside Out 2 at the movie theater, and went bowling.

And the kids love to eat at the seafood buffet... especially Caden, who is going through a growth spurt right now. He ate 4 full plates of food and two things of ice cream.

After a fun weekend, we were on our way back home.

We love this new tradition and hope we can go back again next year.

Summer Time

June is off to a great start. We (and by we, I mean Tyler) have been working so hard to finish our basement. I will post after pictures as soon as everything is done, but for now enjoy this little sneak peek of Tyler's office. The floor is looking so good.
Now that the kids are home all day, they eat all day. So I have to spend more money at Costco to feed them. But what's a Costco trip without a stop for a chocolate chip cookie? Brynn sure enjoyed her's.

We have Lagoon season passes again. I love spending summer days here.

Good news... Brynn is still small enough to fit on Bulgy the whale.
We finally got to go on the new ride at Lagoon, Primordial. It was fun, but not as cool as I was expecting.

Caden played the basketball game and won this stuffed animal.
So weird, one morning Caden woke up with this weird rash all over his body. Luckily I was going to the dermatologist that day and asked her about it. She said it was just a rash and to give him benadryl. That worked and the next morning he was fine.

Salt Lake County offered free passes to all their rec centers this year, which is great, except our favorite outdoor pool was so crowded the day we went. I guess everyone had the same idea we did.
Free dounut day means we got daddy to join us for a quick walk to Duck Donuts.
It also happened to be free drink day at Fiiz, so we stopped there too.
And if that wasn't enough, Krispy Kreme had free donuts too, so we stopped by there.
One of the benefits of Grandma and Grandpa living so close, we get to go to their clubhouse pool.
With all this swimming, Brynnli has developed the best tan. I thought she looked exactly like the little girl on the sunscreen bottle.

While taking Bella for a walk, I found these llamas in the neighborhood by us. Kind of weird, but they seemed to be very friendly.
The girls and I went to thier dance teachers' dance concert. It was fun to see Haiden and Lexie onstage.

Just enjoying a family night at the park.
I have to document how cute this is. I take my mom during the week to give my dad a little break from taking care of her 24/7. Brynn is always the best helper and helps Grandma when she is at our house. THis particular day Brynn was making a card for Grandpa Bob and she was helping Grandma Kathy to make one for Bob too. My mom is starting to struggle with basic directions, so Brynnli worked right along side her and helped her write. Pretty much my mom copied everything Brynn wrote, so my dad got two cards that looked alike.

We went for a drive up Butterfield Canyon, got some cute pictures, and ended the night with rolled ice cream tacos. Family fun night for the win.

Brynn is either ready for bed or ready to go swimming. Which do you think it is?
Makayla went to Girls camp at Camp Haven. Tyler got to go up on the last night. They both had a lot of fun.

Our fitness room is almost complete. We put a ballet bar in the room and Brynn was teaching dance practice with her dolls.
Poor Bella. Now that the kids are home she doesn't get as good of naps as she needs.
Makayla and her friends were hanging our one night and were making commercials for different products. Don't you want to buy this sun screen now?
The worst part of the month was the dreaded well check ups with Dr. Zarbock. The appointment started out so funny though because the receptionist gave Makayla and Caden a survey to fill out. I was trying to get our insurance information to the receptionist, so I wasn't able to help the kids, but I heard them both just giggling so hard. When I went to sit down by them Makayla said, "Why do they want to know the baby's name?" and Caden was like, "I can't even have a baby!" Before I could look at the paperwork, the nurse called us back and by that time Makayla and Caden were laughing so hard. I told the nurse they were getting a kick out of the paperwork and she looked at it and goes, "oh no, they gave you the postpartum paperwork!" That made more sense. They got the right paperwork, and Makayla was sad she didn't get to fill out the other paperwork because she was going to name her imaginary baby Joe Biden. By the time Dr. Zarbock walked into the room, they whole office staff heard about the funny mix up.

The well check ups went great. Our kids are like the three little bears... Makayla is tall for her age, Brynnli is small for her age, and Caden is just right.

The only bad thing was that Brynn had to get her finger pricked, and Makayla and Caden both had to get shots. They survived and were rewarded with ice cream for being so brave.
