Here's a few things we have been up to in July:
Brynnli has been begging to go to Arctic Circle. I don't know why because their food is gross, but we had a little day date, just the two of us and it was so much fun talking to her.
Brynn and Daddy tried to fill up the bean bag chairs, but it turned into a huge mess of little white beans all over dad's office floor. I think we are still finding the beans even weeks later. We had some cute birds hatch in the tree just outside our bathroom window. I think I counted 4 little baby birds. I looked forward to seeing them every morning.
Daddy has been working a lot this month and needless to say, he's tired!
We went to see Seussical the Musical at the Orem Hale Center Theatre. The stage was so small, but the play was so cute. I was so glad we were able to see a play here before they moved to their new location.
Now that our basement is done (I will be posting all about it once we get everything set up) we love to watch movies with our big tv and surround sound.
My dad turned 78 this year. There's nobody I admire more than my dad, especially as I watch him care for my mom. He is so patient with her.
Weirdos...
After almost a week in the nest my little babies were ready to fly and leave the nest.
I'm pretty sure only 2 of them actually survived. I don't know why the mom builds her nest here because they always seem to fall into the window well just below the nest. I had to rescue one of the birds from our window well and I put it back into the nest, but later found out it died. Then one of the other birds got stuck in our shed, so I had to rescue that one too. It had a hard time flying, but the mom was staying by it. We eventually moved the bird to the neighbors yard where it had a better chance of surviving.
Geez... one day your young and fun and the next day you're worried about your baby birds.
Tyler and I went to the Kenny Chesney concert. I love Kenny so much and look forward to his concerts. We got a yummy dole whip dessert.
Ahhh... I love when Kenny wears his white hat.
The conert was amazing and Kenny sang all of my favorite songs. We had the best seats with the best people watching.
Now that the basement is done, we are moving Makayla up to her own room in the bonus room. I will post all about it, but for now enjoy this picture of her while she's helping dad to put up her shelves.
Brynn has her own room now too. but I guess she was confused about where her bed is? We found her sound asleep on top of her stuffed animals. I guess she fell out of the bed?
It's that point in the summer where the kids are buggin. I got mad at them and they bought me cookies to make it up.
Makayla has made great use of her Lagoon season passes. The rest of us not so much.
We met a friend from work and her daughter at Lagoon and the kids went on all the rides while Jen and I talked. It was a hot, but fun day. And in case you're wondering, Brynn still fits on the Bulgy ride... Makayla and Caden do not.
The kids finally got to go on Cliffhanger. They were soaked by the end.
Brynnli has been begging to go on Rocket. I don't know why, but I am so scared of her going on this. I must have talked it up too much because after she went on it, Brynn said it wasn't even scary.
Can you believe we are already doing back to school shopping? It seems like just yesterday the kids were just getting out of school for the summer.
The kids got the cutest clothes and are going to rock this school year. Brynn and Makayla got matching shirts... I'll let you decide how each of them felt about it.
Pioneer day means we celebrate with pie and "beer"
The Moffat's came back for a visit and Brynn was so happy she had friends to play with again. She missed the girls so much!
Makayla had a memorable night. Her friend Brooke had an extra ticket to Olivia Rodrigo and asked if Makayla would want to go. Makayla had to buy the ticket with her own money and she spent $230 on it. Makayla spent all of the money she earned over the last year working at the studio for one night, but she had so much fun and said it was worth it. The two of them were at the concert by themselves and had so much fun. Makayla said her voice hurt so much from screaming the whole concert... which is exactly what Olivia Rodrigo does in her songs: scream.

Doug's house is officially sold now, but Terry and Craig are still going through Doug's things. We found this gem and the kids did a little reenactment photo.
We got a ice cream maker and had the yummiest cookies and cream ice cream made the old fashioned way.

I taught the kids about "errands". Running errands for me usually means stopping for a treat and a drink before.
Brynn has been begging to do a lemonade stand, so we finally made her wishes come true. The kids sold lemonade and cookies for 2 days and made over $150 dollars!!
Grandma and Grandpa stopped by and said the lemonade was delicious.
I love when the kids ask to go to the library. I love that they love to read. Makayla had a memorable night.
