Surprise!

We were surprised too!

Makayla helped us make the big announcement that Baby Evans #2 is due in early April. The front of her shirt says, "Oops They Did It Again"
And the back of the shirt says, "I'm Going To Be A Big Sister"
We are so excited!!! A little nervous about having two kids under two, but hopefully they will be best of friends. I'm about 17 weeks pregnant now (a little over 4 months).

I didn't know I was pregnant... I used to hear people say that, but I didn't understand how they didn't know... well, now I know. Long story short, I was breast feeding Makayla and never had any of the "normal" pregnancy symptoms or signs. I was tired, but I just chalked that up to getting up at night with Makayla. I never had any morning sickness. It wasn't until I started back to work the end of August. I would get home from work absolutely starving, and then feel so nausious after. I decided to take a pregnancy test after a few days of this happening. Sure enough it was positive!

I told Tyler that night. We sat down on the couch and I told him. His eyes got all big and he got a huge smile on his face and he said, "that's so exciting!" We spent the rest of the night talking about how excited we were and how much our lives were going to change even more.

When finally went into the doctor in late September. I thought at that point I was maybe 6 weeks pregnant. The doctor did an ultrasound since we couldn't pinpoint the date. Surprise to us I was 13 weeks pregnant! I couldn't believe it. It was nice to know that I was already past the first trimester. I squeeked by with hardly any morning sickness at all!

Now we wait for a few weeks to find out if we're having a boy or a girl. My gut is telling me a boy (I can name at least 10 people who have either had boys within the last few months, or who are pregnant with boys now).

We can't wait for our little baby to make his or her debut! We are so excited and can't wait for our little family of 4!

October Fun

Wow! Where has the time gone? Tomorrow our little punkin turns 9 months old! I can't believe how big she's getting and how much she is changing everyday. Makayla has been the best thing. She is so much fun and keeps us laughing. She is discovering new things everyday and definitely has a mind of her own! Here's a few highlights from October.

Makayla discovered how to open the warming drawer on our oven. She also discovered the drawer with my tupperware lids in it. What is more fun than playing with tupperware lids in the warming oven? Not a whole lot for Kayla. (p.s. her baby sitter made her this hat... we thought it was funny too!)
We bought Makayla a winter coat, but she doesn't seem to love wearing it.
Unless we're outside going for a walk.
We also bought her little shoes. After three trips to the store, I finally got her the right size. She is starting to look like a little girl now and not like a baby. It makes me sad in a way. I just don't want her to grow up.

Grandma and Grandpa Evans stopped by to drop soomething off and Kayla was getting ready for bed, so they read her a story. Cutest thing ever! Makayla is really into books. She knows how to turn the pages and likes to point at the pictures.
A few random pictures of Kayla wearing her Texas A and M gear.

Our Lovies is starting to like real food. She loves bananas! Usually more of her food ends up everywhere but her  mouth, but we are just glad she is developing her small motor skills (inside joke, but thanks for pretending to get it).
We're in the process of weaning Makayla onto formula (yep, 9 months later I'm still breast feeding). It's been a struggle, but I think she's almost there. This particular day she was even holding her own bottle.
We've been having a lot of fun dressing up Kayla for Halloween. She got this cute cat dress and we found cat ears and a tail in  our Halloween box. This isn't her costume, but it sure was cute! We even put make up on to look like wiskers.

Here's another cute Halloween outfit. Grandma Terry bought her this cute shirt and my sister-in-law Meg made this cute ghost bow. I absolutely love having a little girl to dress up!

Our New Home

We have lived in our new home for about 2 months now and this is the first I have had a chance to post some pictures of it. I was waiting until our shutters got installed, then I was waiting until I cleaned the house, then I was waiting for our little projects do get done. I eventually realized all three of those things were never going to happen at the same time, so I am blogging now. This post will probably be incredibly boring to most of you, but I don't blog for all of you (sorry to disappoint you) I blog so my family will remember the exciting and boring events of our lives.

We absolutely love our new house! And we love living in South Jordan. It is so close to everything we need and it is close to our families. Our new house has a very similar layout from our Richfield house, but with a few extras...

This is the front view
That cute little orange dot is our Little Missy... she somehow ended up in most of the pictures.
Tyler has been working so hard on the yard for the last few weekends. We think after the owners sold the house they let the yard go because it needed a lot of upkeep.

I LOVE our front door. It was one of the major selling points for me.
Right off the front door is our piano room.

Moving further in the house is our family room.

Our kitchen. I love the cabinets and granite counter tops.
This is our pantry. The first time I peeked in there I was shocked at how big it was. I never thought I would be able to fill it up, but it is getting pretty full already.
Off the kitchen is our half bath
And on the other side is our laundry room with our new front loading washer and dryer which I absolutely love. Laundry isn't such a big task anymore.
 Our garage
The hallway leading to the bedrooms
 Makayla's room...

Next to Makayla's room is future baby's room, but for now it is our "random furniture that wouldn't fit in the family room" and "Makayla's play room".
One of the things I love about our house is the extra tall walls and doors.
 Makayla's bathroom
 And our bedroom

Every girl loves her walk in closet. It still amazes me that Tyler has more clothes than I do, and that was after he gave a bunch of them away.
 Master bathroom

Like I mentioned before, this house is very similar to our old house, but this house has a finished basement.

 Our game/movie closet...
There are two bedrooms downstairs. We turned this room into our computer/ work out room.

 My "organizing closet"
Bedroom #2 is a guest bedroom. If you need a place to crash, come on over!

Downstairs bathroom... not too much here, but we'll eventually decorate it up.
The thing we loved about this house was the bonus room.
A view from the other side
This is the bonus room bathroom... 5 bathrooms in one house sounds great until you have to clean all of them.
This is the bonus room bedroom. Really not much to see here either.
I love this view from the top of our bonus room looking down to the piano room.
We were also drawn to this house because it had a finished back yard. It needs some work, but we have a lot of years to turn it into our dream backyard.

Whelp... that's the tour of our home... I hope you enjoyed it... Little Missy certainly likes our house. She was too involved in waving her arms around to look at me and smile for the picture. :)
