Easter is one of our favorite holidays around here, and this year was so much fun.
Brynnli's grade did a candy scramble at school where they sang some songs then they scrambled to get a lot of candy.
It's not officially Easter until you decorate the Easter eggs. Look at them all hard at work.
Remember back in the day when we used to have to help the kids dye their eggs? Well they're all getting so big that they can all do it themselves, and it makes me just a little bit sad.
This is Makayla's "farting egg". She cracks us up.
And this is Caden's favorite egg. It took a lot of work to get a brown egg.
Don't forget mom and dad. I made a bunny egg and Tyler made a really cute face.
Aren't they cute!?
I have a love hate feeling toward decorating eggs. I love watching the kids dye them, but then I hate fighting the kids to eat them for days after. Poor Caden cries as he tries to gag down the egg. The kids got new spring jammies, then we took the traditional picture with their empty Easter baskets. This year Bella got to be in the picture with us. It is her first Easter, and I think she was super excited.
Why yes, we did put Bella in an Easter basket and make her pose for her picture. Is that weird?
The next morning the kids woke up bright and early to find their baskets.
Bella and Dad were excited too.
Makayla was the first to find the bow and arrow. What a fun gift they can play at The Land!
Caden found the target.
Bella found her basket downstairs behind the couch. She got some fun toys and treats.
We were starting to think that maybe the Easter Bunny didn't bring anything for her because she is 11 years old after all, but after literally searching the house up and down and searching in every nook and cranny, Makayla found her Easter basket in the filing cabinet.
After church we headed to Grandma Terry and Grandpa Craigs. Do you know why this Easter is a little bit sad? Because this is the last one at their house since they're moving. I'm still having trouble believing it.
They are officially ready for the hunt.
The kids got so many goodies and toys.
We love the Easter egg hunt because everyone just strolls around the yard yelling out people's names that are on the treats. Traditions, right?

Brynnli's basket was hiding in the coat closet, Caden's was hanging up in his closet, and Makayla was having no luck finding hers.

Look at those cute cousins.

And what's Easter without a little dodge ball game. Things were going great until Brynnli's ball got popped.
After that we headed over to Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Bob's house for an Easter egg hunt. It was just our kids doing the hunting this year.
The kid ran around the yard so fast I had a hard time getting pictures of all of them. They found so many eggs.
Then it was their favorite part: counting their money to see how much they got.
It was the perfect spring day
We were downstairs and found this picture of me in 1st grade, the same grade Brynnli is in. Tyler said Brynn looked just like me... what do you think?
It was a great Easter spent with our family. I feel so grateful that I have such an amazing family. I love my little family of 5 and our extended families. I love my Savior and am so grateful His eternal sacrifice. I know that he suffered and died for me so that I can be with my family forever. I love my Savior and the perfect example He is to me. With all of crazy things going on in the world, He brings me peace, and I am so grateful for that.
