The Last Competition of the Year

And just like that the funnest competition season has come to an end. I think I say every year I say that the girls' dances are my favorite, but I truly believe this year's dances are the best.

Thanks to Haiden, Makayla's solo challenged her and gave her so much confidence.

This competition was so fun because they do the overalls live, so you can watch their website to see if your dance is in the top 5. Makayla did so great at this competition and got high gold and 2nd in her division. We kept checking the website and she was staying in the top 5, so we left dinner early and ran back to the competition only to find out she was just barely knocked out of the top 5.

Makayla really used this season to challenge herself to be better at each competition. Makayla did such an amazing job.
I loved watching Brynnli compete a trio for the first time this year. Her group was so cute (maybe the moms were a little high maintenance  but the girls were so cute). They competed at their last comp and it was one for the books. They did such a good job and every one of the girls hit their tumbling tricks.

They ended up winning high gold and 1st in the duo/trio as well as best costume, best technique, and best choreography.

We noticed on the website they were even bumped up to the intermediate division and when the final awards came out they won the overall in the Intermediate award!! They way they figure this out is that they compare their score to the scores from the previous night and place them according to how they would have placed with the other groups.

The girls won an overall trophy and they were all beaming from ear to ear.
Caden is the best brother! He wanted a chance to show off his leap skills... maybe the girls could give him a few lessons on how to straighten his legs for a leap.
Last time we would watch these girls onstage this season

Brynnli's Jazz and hip hop won Diamond and outstanding choreography awards, and lyrical got sapphire. Makayla's hip hop got Diamond, outstanding showmanship, and outstanding choreography. Moment got sapphire (which was surprising because that dance did so well at all the other comps), Auschwitz got Diamond and a judges choice award, and Professional Show business got Diamond, best showmanship, best costume, best choreography, and 5th place overall in all of the intermediate dances.

After a long day of competitions we were finally home at 11:00 and the girls presented Caden with the Best Brother award for always supporting them at their dance competitions.
He really is the best
Gosh I love these kids. It is truly an honor to raise them and watch them grow.

We get one day off and then we start the next dance season.
