Our Soccer Dude!

I really can't even express how proud we are of Caden, especially this year in soccer. He has improved and excelled so much this year. He couldn't wait to get to his soccer games every week and get on the field to play. Caden did so well and really excelled on defense. He also improved in offence and scored at least one goal every game.

At his very last game he got a medal and he was so proud of it.

Caden's coach this year, Alex, was really great with all the kids and made the game really fun for all of them.
We are so proud of our little soccer player and can't wait for spring soccer to begin!

Lucky, Lucky, Lucky Me!

Wow, you would think it was Christmas around here with all the fun things the kids got from Lucky the Leprechaun this year. He stopped by again to play tricks on the kids and leave them some surprises.

His note said:
Today's St Patrick's Day, you see. I came back to play tricks on you three.
I messed up your rooms, I turned your milk green. One of your bathrooms is no longer clean.
I left you treats to show you I care. I even got you glasses and bows for your hair.
I got you some tattoos so you'll look cool. Don't forget to wear your shirts to school!
I hope you don't get pinched on this fine March Day. "Top o' the mornin' to ya!" Like I always say.

He peed in our bathroom and forgot to flush. (I think he thought that was normal around here since that's what the kids always do).
 He turned our milk green.
But Caden was not happy to see that he had messed up his room by taking all of the books off the shelf and throwing them on the floor.
Lucky must be pretty strong because he moved Brynnli's bed while she was asleep in it!
Don't they just look so cute in their matching outfits!?

Caden had preschool that day with a magician show, so we got to all go see it with him!
Later that night we went to the U of U women's basketball game. There was hardly anyone there so we got to get face painting and balloons.

Check out this Irish-ish guy. Sorry ladies, he's taken.

Caden didn't let us forget to take a picture of him with his face mask when we got home.
What a fun St. Patrick's Day! See ya next year Lucky!!

In Case You're Wondering How We're Doing This Month...

I think this picture adequately explains how we're doing this month.
There was some sort of nasty bug that hit the Evans family hard the beginning of the month. I think I started it at the worst possible time when Tyler was out of town, and we had to get ready for a party at our house. As soon as I got a little better, it hit the kids. All of the kids had runny noses, horrible coughs, and fevers. Caden's turned into a ear infection, so he was on an antibiotic. Tyler picked it up last and his turned into a sinus infection, so another trip, co-pay, and prescription for him. Plus I ended up being on an antibiotic after Tyler... Not a good way to start February!

Doesn't this picture make you want to cry! I hate it when our kids don't feel good, and there's really nothing you can do to make them better, except hold them.

6 may be my new favorite age. Makayla is learning to read and sound words out. She makes us a lot of pictures like this one.
I like gapas and sabre and aepll and caed and banas.
*Translation: I like grapes and strawberries and apples and cuties and bananas.

I like zebu and posull and gaps and monen, and jess and me faile.
*Translation: I like zebras and Popsicle and grapes and Moana and Jesus and my family.
My favorite part is the picture of Jesus.

When you're waiting in line to pick up Makayla from school, you get a little bored.

And sometimes I am such a sucker. Brynn and I were grocery shopping and we walked past the Valentine's stuffed animals. Brynn found this bear and wanted it so badly.

Brynn: "My want to get dis"
Me: "Did you bring your money?"
Brynn: "No"
Me: "Then you can't buy it."
Brynn: "But my want it! Is so cute! (Gives me her "Cute" face) Peas, Mommy!"

And with that we walked away with another stuffed animal we don't need.
Good thing it was on clearance and only $2.

The kids got to go spend their chore money on a toy at Toys-R-Us. Don't they look so cute squished in the back of our car?

Why did I take a screen shot of this you may ask? Well this picture was taken on February 21... my 1/2 birthday. And do you notice what time it is at the top? 8:21. Coincidence? I think not. My birthday is calling to me already.

Selfies in the car again while waiting to pick up kids from school

I am so ready for spring. If it won't come on its own I will at least get my nails done springy to make me feel a little better.

34 Years Young

Tyler turned 34 this year and we were so excited to spoil him for his special day. The kids were so excited for Tyler to come home from work so they could give him their gifts and cards.

Makayla gave Daddy some Oreos, a car freshener, and the cutest homemade card.
Caden gave Daddy Oreos too (so that he would stop sneaking theirs) and some chap stick (so he would stop stealing mine)
And Brynnli gave Daddy some gum.
Tyler also got some clothes and replacement parts for the power washer. Not that exciting of gifts, but he seemed to like them.

Dessert was probably the best part. We had a skookie (skillet cookie) topped with Cookies and Cream ice cream and more crushed Oreos (since there wasn't enough cookies?) Tyler and I have been trying to eat healthy lately, but this just ruined all of our progress... and to be honest, it was totally worth it!

Happy Birthday Tyler! Thanks for being the best husband and dad. We love what a hard worker you are and how you always make time for all of us. I love the life we have and can't wait for the future. We love you!

All You Need is Love

Another great Valentine's day for the books! The kids had a fun day at school and when Daddy got home from work we had our fancy dinner. We had our pink punch in our fancy glasses and toasted to a great family.
I love Caden in this picture!
Thanks to Tyler for grilling our steaks perfectly! We had steak, sweet potatoes, rice and broccoli.
Plus cookies and chocolate covered strawberries! YUM!!
The cookies were a big hit!

After dinner we gave the kids the Brave movie and Fruit by the Foot.

I sure do love this family of mine. Not just on Valentine's day, but every day of the year. I do love that there is a special day a year to celebrate my love for my hubby and cuties! Happy Valentine's Day!
