Last week we took the kids to the Salt Lake County Fair for our Friday Family Date. We started out at Cafe Rio for dinner, but we had to scarf our food because we had one kid screaming and the other kid trying to run all over the restaurant. You would think we would learn...
After sitting in traffic for 30 minutes (seriously, it would have been faster for us to walk from our house to the fair) we finally arrived. We loaded the kids in our "new" double stroller (my first purchase off of a classified ad) and we were off!
We started out at the petting zoo. Tyler doesn't love animals, so I volunteered to take Makayla into the petting zoo. She was a little afraid of the animals and liked to look at them more from a distance.
Next we went to see the cows and pigs. When you ask Makayla what a cow says, she says "booo"
And when you ask Daddy and Makayla what a pig says, this is what you get (imagine snorting noises with these adorable faces)
This sheep stuck his head out to see the kids, but Makayla was a little freaked out. Caden on the other hand just likes to chill.
We also went to see the birds.
Kayla got to pet a bunny
We topped off the night with ice cream and walking through the carnival part of the fair. The fair was so much fun for the kids... especially Caden. He was so excited he slept through most of it! :)
We can't wait for next year when we'll have two todds at the fair! (Not as entries, just as spectators)
