My Last Year as a "20 something"

Well, it's happening... this is my last year as a 20 something. Last Tuesday I turned the big 29! We all know how much I love my birthday, so I think that made the sting of turning a year older a little better.

My birthday was my last day off before I had to go back to work, but it was the best day! I spent the morning hanging out with my kiddos. Then my mom watched the kids so that Tyler and I could go out to lunch. It was so nice to have a meal and not have to fight the kids to sit still.

Later that night we went to a combined August birthday dinner at Craig and Terry's.
I get to share my birthday with Tracy and Gayle.

I got spoiled with a lot of gifts and cards

I might be prejudice, but I think my family is pretty cute!
Later that night Tyler gave me a gift card to get my toes done and some money for our shopping spree.

The kids gave me a really cute card and a book called Me and My Mom
Kayla helped me read the card
and she loved the book! So did I. I was trying not to cry the whole time I was reading it.
Tyler and I were supposed to go out on an overnight date the week before my birthday but the kids and I ended up getting sick so we had to reschedule for the week after my birthday. I told Tyler all I wanted to do for my birthday was to shop and eat... and probably eat while I'm shopping. And that's exactly what we did! We started out at Kohls, then we went to City Creek in Downtown Salt Lake. I guess I'm a plain Jane because I didn't like any of the stores there and I thought everything was pretty expensive, so we left there and went to Gateway. We got about half way through Gateway before we had to leave for our dinner reservation.

Tyler took me to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse! I have been wanting to try it for months now. It was so, so good!  Seriously, it was the most tender steak I have ever had. By the time we left there our bill was almost $200... oops! :) Once in a lifetime, right? They did give me free dessert which we were too full to eat, so we got it to go and had it later that night at the hotel.
Sunday we got to relax by the pool and then we had to finish our shopping at the Gateway. It was an expensive weekend, but one of the funnest birthdays I have ever had! Thanks Tyler for the get-away. We needed it!!

Sunday night we went to my parent's house for a birthday dinner. How many people does it take to light the candle on a cupcake? Apparently 6 in my family! :)

I look forward to my birthday every year. Thanks to the best husband and family for making this year so great! I am loving my last year as a 20-something!!
