So here we are into February 2021. Tyler and I have decided that we need new carpet, so we are redoing our laundry room. Does that make sense to you? You know how projects go... we decided we need new carpet, but if we're going to get new carpet we should paint, but if we're going to paint we should do some remodeling projects we have been wanting to do... which brings us to redoing the laundry room. Our laundry room is pretty small, but it seems like the room where all our random stuff ends up. In the mornings all three kids are crammed into the laundry room trying to get their backpacks ready for school. So we decided to make it bigger. Tyler came up with the idea to make a pocket for the washer/dryer to go in. It only went about 18 inches into the garage, but it made our laundry room so much bigger.
Here's the before picture.
Tyler is very talented and did all the plumbing, electrical, and framing. Craig helped too.
Mid way through and the mess was starting to get a little annoying, but we knew the end project would be worth it.
Then it was time to paint. Do you want to hear a funny story? Tyler was looking for paint and he found an old can in the storage room. We both thought it looked the same color as our original paint, so he decided to use it. As soon as he started, we thought it looked a little darker, but thought maybe it would lighten up as it dried. Well it turns out it didn't get lighter as it dried. In fact it was darker. The paint was not what we used in our house, but rather the paint we used to paint the kids' play set. So basically we have a multi colored laundry room now. We will eventually repaint our entire house, so it only has to stay like this for a few months.
The kids helped with paining. They had fun and did a great job.
Here's the final product! I really can't believe how much bigger it is. I have room to do the laundry and the kids can all be in there in the mornings without yelling at each other to get out of the way. I found this cute shelf online that has room to hang up clothes that need to dry. And how cute is this sign? We really do have endless laundry.
Now it's on to our next project... redoing the pantry.
This girl is such a ham. She keeps us laughing with her funny sayings. Every time I pick her up from Kindergarten she tells me that she has been listening to her body and her body says that she NEEDS a cheeseburger.
Brynnli is doing great in school and is learning her sight words, how to write sentences, and how to add and subtract. She is loving dance and literally does gymnastics tricks wherever she goes. Look how cute her hair is in braids.
She got her costume and was so excited to put it on. Brynnli is always posing.
Who needs a foot rest when you can just use dad's leg at church?
This is Addison, Brynnli's best friend at school. They played together one afternoon and had to show me their best friend necklaces.
Caden was too busy running around, so I only snapped this one picture of him going down the hill.

We've had like literally one snow storm all season, so we went with the Jones boys sledding at the park by their house. The kids had so much fun and were exhausted after. Makayla finally got to try out her new snowboard. She said it was hard to do, but she did great.

The girls had their dance showcase! We were so excited to finally see them perform on the stage after a year of cancelled dance events. They are both doing a competition team this year. They have to have their hair and makeup a very specific way and even get to wear fake eyelashes. Makayla hates the eyelashes and can't wait to pull them off as soon as she's done dancing. Brynnli on the other hand loved wearing them and even wanted to wear them to church the next day.
They definitely look older with make up and fake eyelashes, but they are so stinkin cute!
They both did so great at their performance.
Makayla was worried about her front walkover, but she did such a good job. Her face right after the front walk over really showed how excited she was that she did it perfectly!
Makayla's team:
And the beach girls:
I think Brynnli looks exactly like my aunt Joann. What do you think? She must have the Draper side in her because when she was like 5 months old we thought she looked exactly like my Grandma Draper.
When your 10 year old wants to sit in the cart. She barely fit her legs in the slot, and almost got stuck, but it was pretty funny pushing her around the store like this.
And I have to document when the girls are playing together because it is far and few between. How cute is this? Makayla was doing Brynnli's hair and Brynnli was doing her doll's hair.
Makayla is doing a lyrical dance called, "Lean on me" and she is such a gorgeous and graceful dancer! She has really learned a lot this year.
Brynnli is doing a Jazz dance called "Beach Party" she can sass it better than anyone! They both did so great at their performance.

Look at that fire bird! Makayla is seriously the prettiest dancer!

We can't wait for their upcoming competitions!
Have you ever wondered what we will look like as old people? Makayla found this fun app and we were laughing so hard at how we will look when we're old. I can't decide who in our family Makayla and Caden look like as old people...

Tyler's lookin good even as an old person.
I got my hairs did. I went to a new hair lady this time. I really like the color, but I'll have to teach her how I like it cut next time.
February was cold. Nothing better than snuggling by the fire wrapped in a blanket. When your 10 year old wants to sit in the cart. She barely fit her legs in the slot, and almost got stuck, but it was pretty funny pushing her around the store like this.

Such a fun month!
An update on CoronaVirus: In Utah, there are currently 371,492 people who have had the virus in Utah and 1,940 deaths. More and more vaccines are being given everyday, and cases are starting to go down in our area.
Worldwide there are over 2.5 million people who have died from the virus. I read that about 3% of people who get the virus die from it.
