While Tyler was in Alaska on vacation, Emily and I took the kids to Logan. I have been telling Tyler I think it would be fun to take the kids there and walk around campus and show him all the things I loved from my 5 year stint at Utah State University. Tyler said that sounded like the worst vacation ever, so I told him I would find someone who would want to go. Emily is always up for adventures with us, so she came along.
We got kind of a late start to our trip, but we finally made it up to Logan and checked into our hotel. Our first stop was campus and the famous True Aggie "A" where I became a True Aggie multiple times over the years! :)
We expect our kids to go to college, but obviously they can choose where to go. I just thought I would put the bug in their ear about USU, because I really had a great time in college (minus all the school stuff that occupied the majority of my time! :)
Later that night we went to one of my favorite restaurants in Logan, Firehouse Pizza, where I saw an old boyfriend. He was there on some business thing and I didn't get a chance to talk to him, but I did make sure to text Tyler and let him know about this other Tyler whom I had some pretty good make our sessions with in college :)
Later that night we went swimming at the hotel. The kids had a blast and Makayla was brave enough to walk across the pool by herself. It was only three feet, but she was so proud of herself. We finally went to bed about 10:30 and all of us were exhausted.
The next day we went shopping, ate at Juniper Take Out (another of my favorite restaurants there), and visited with some of Emily's friend who still live up there. It was a quick trip, but we enjoyed it. It probably wasn't as exotic as Alaska, but we had just as much fun!
