Our Vacation Continues in Lego Land!

For the second part of our vacation, we headed to Lego Land. This drive was only supposed to take us 2 hours, but traffic was so bad that it ended up taking us almost 4 hours. The kids slept for a good portion of the drive. Poor Makayla ended up throwing up on the way and I had to hold the bag of throw up for about 45 minutes before we could pull over and throw it away.

We finally made it to our favorite hotel. We love staying in the Lego Land Hotel because the rooms are decorated so cute. We stayed in the castle hotel. This was mom and dad's bed
And the kids' room. This room has a bunk bed with a pull out trundle bed so the kids can each have a bed to sleep on.
We explored the hotel, ate some dinner, and then went to the kid magic show and story time.
Our kids love the hotel because they get to go on a treasure hunt around the hotel to get clues that open the chest. Inside the chest are some Legos that they can put together.

We woke up early the next morning and were one of the first ones in the park.

We went on all of our favorite rides, like the Ninjago ride, the Technic roller coaster, and the submarine ride. The kids also love to go to the build and test lab where they could build a car and then race it down the track.

We love to look at all the amazing recreations they make out of Legos.

When we went to Lego Land last time Brynnli was just a month shy of being 4 and she was too little to go on the horse ride, but we taught her how to lie about how old she was so she could go on it. Even though Caden almost ratted us out, this turned out to be one of our favorite rides last time. Brynnli and Caden were so excited to go on it again and Makayla thought she was too old to go on it. I told her I would buy her an ice cream if she would go on the ride again. She agreed to my bribery, and it turned out to be our favorite ride again. Makayla might not look happy in this picture, but she really was having fun.

One of the funniest moments happened when Tyler told the kids to go wait by the castle stage because there was some sort of show where you could get knighted. So Caden and Brynnli go sit down and we waited for a while. No other kids show up. Finally two people come out and have them kneel on the ground and said to them, "You are a brave knight of Lego Land!" and the other one said, "Yell, 'I'm a KNIGHT!'" So our kids do that then continue to sit there waiting for the rest of the show. And that was it. There was no show after. They people just went around to some other kids who showed up and knighted them. Tyler and I thought it was so funny, and all we could repeat all day long was, "You are a brave knight of Lego Land!"
Caramel apples are a must when we go to an amusement park.

Our kids' other favorite ride is the cars where the kids can drive themselves. The kids went on this ride at least a few times and Tyler and I got a mini date.

Our kids' favorite show is Lego Masters and they had the winning Lego build on display.
Look, they combined two things we love into one: Harry Potter and Lego

That night we went back to the hotel and the kids got to the kids section to make and present their builds.

We wanted to go swimming, but we got to the pool too late and we could only swim for about 20 minutes. It was pretty cold so we spent most of the time in the hot tub.
We were hungry, but our kids couldn't decide on a place to eat (again). We didn't want to spend another $60 for dinner, so we found Costco and got all of our kids food, drinks, and dessert for less than $20.

Looks like Caden found a girlfriend.
Day 2 we were up early and ready for another day at the park. We rode all of our favorite rides multiple times and had so much fun.

We finally made good on our promise to get ice cream for Makayla because she went on the horse ride. The other kids talked us into ice cream too.
The kids love this Lego build. We have this same picture of Makayla last time we were here in this same position.
We spent some time at the aquarium.

To end day 2 we ate at "Everything is Ramen" and looked around the gift shop.

Caden was so sad to leave. Nothing makes me sadder than this picture because Caden loves Lego Land so much.
We had a really long drive to Mesquite. We got stuck in some traffic again. Our kids needed a potty break, so we stopped at Starbucks. Then our kids told us they were hungry, so we went through the Dairy Queen drive thru. We got our food to eat in the car and set out on the freeway again. After about 2 bites into her onion rings, Makayla had to throw up again. Poor thing couldn't get a break. She felt better after she threw up, but guess who had to hold the bag of throw up again because Tyler didn't want to get off the freeway? Me.

We finally made it to Mesquite and went to sleep. The next morning we got to spend some time at the pool and then made our 5 hour drive home.

We had such a fun time together as a family on vacation and we can't wait for our next adventure together. Our kids loved Universal Studios and we loved being able to go back to Lego Land. Even though Covid has changed the way we do things, we are so glad that we can still go on vacation.
