School's Out for the Summer

And with that, the school year is done. I am so ready for this year to be over. It wasn't like the year was bad, in fact there were a lot of good things that happened, but it was definitely a challenging one. From strict teachers, to mean friends, to difficult assignments, to heartbreaking results, this is one year I am happy to move on from.

Makayla officially finished middle school. She is ready to enter high school next year. Makayla earned a 4.0 each quarter, had fun in Dance Co and made made some new friends. She passed all of her BOS classes and is a Microsoft Office Specialist.

Caden did so well in 8th grade. He also got a 4.0, finished the mile run in under 8 minutes, and had fun in mixed choir. He's looking forward to ruling the school next year as a 9th grader.

This is the last time these two will be in middle school together. They are starting to hang out with some of the same kids and spend dinner talking about all the kids they know (Let's just say that I can't wait to meet this Aiden Savage kid that they talk about all the time).

4.0 means they are $50 richer.
5th grade was not Brynnli 's favorite year. She had a really strict teacher, Mrs. Giffen, who made the year sometimes stressful. Add on top of that her friends were not very nice to her mid way through the year and she ended up having to make new friends and ignore her old friends who would roll their eyes at her and try to make her feel bad. So many tears were shed and we had so many conversations about being the better person when your friends are being mean. Mean Girls are no joke at this age. Despite those few setbacks, Brynnli had a good year and had a lot of growth. Her test scores improved so much and I know her friend drama will make her a stronger person and a better friend. Brynnli is looking forward to her last year in elementary next year.

Let summer begin!!
