More Comps and Awards

The girls have had more dance competitions again this month and they did so well at all of them! 3 of our 4 weekends were spent at dance competitions this month. First up was Aspire. Dance is so much fun when you are with friends. This is Gracie who is on Makayla's team. and Pearl who is on Brynnli's team 

Makayla did so well at this competition and got 3rd overall in the intermediate category!!

Haiden choreographed both girls' dances again this year. I always love her choreography and feel like she knows the girls' style, but also challenges them. Brynnli did great and got a diamond ranking. 

The next day was duo. The girls did so well in this competition and got diamond 1st place in their division. 

The following week was the Artist Awards competition. There were so many friends at this competition. Each one did so well on their solos and they were all so great to cheer each other on stage. 

Makayla and I had our dinner in the hallway and had some good chats about not giving up, even when we feel defeated. 

Makayla did so well this competition and placed 1st in her division, even beating some girls who were on her sister team. Then the highlight of it all was winning 1st attendant in the intermediate category! Makayla was beaming. Makayla works so hard at dance and it was nice to see her hard work acknowledged. 

Duo did so great at this competition too, winning 2nd in their division. 

Brynnli's turn was the next day. She got 2nd in her category. Brynnli is a little frustrated this season because she isn't getting 1st place like she has in the past, but I have to keep reminding her that she went up to a harder division and she has had a lot of growth this season.

A little break for lunch at Costco... and yes, these girls are exhausted after a long day of dance. 

Both girls got to go with their team to Hollywood Vibe for a convention style dance weekend. They competed one dance and then took 2 days of classes from different instructors. They were challenged with styles they are not used to like ballroom and tap. Brynnli hates conventions because she thinks the days are too long and she can't watch all her TV on the weekends. Makayla, on the other hand, was excited for convention. 

Both of their dances got the highest ranking. 

The only highlight for Brynnli was when I brought her lunch. Raising Canes makes everything better. 

Makayla was so excited because her ballroom teacher was Shasha from Dancing with the stars. All of her friends were beaming with their picture with him. 

Dance weekends are the best weekends.
