Newport Beach

A few months ago we went through our summer calendar with all of our events and tried to find a week we could go on vacation. Seeing that our kids are literally in the busiest season of our lives, we only had 2 weeks to choose from where all three kids had nothing on the calendar. I have been feeling like we needed to do one more Disney trip before Brynnli got too old, so we decided we would go to the happiest place on earth during the hottest time of the year. Sounds fun, huh!

We decided to drive again and Tyler said we would leave when he woke up. In true Tyler fashion, we were on the road at 3:30 in the morning. The kids have done this drive so many times before and they are pros at sleeping in the car. We ended up making it to Vegas before the kids even woke up. 

We got to California in the afternoon and went straight to Newport Beach. We had lunch at a cute pizza place and then spent some time at the beach. This beach had huge waves and at one point a huge wave almost knocked me and Brynnli over. Let's just say that we had sand filling our swimsuits. 

We shopped around for souvis and then headed to our hotel. 

We walked around Downtown Disney, got some dinner and looked for more souvis. I was hoping we could eat at the viral Din Tai Fung restaurant, but I guess you have to get reservations like 30 days in advance. The wheels are turning for planning another trip centered around this restaurant. 

 We went to bed early and couldn't wait for our first day in Disneyland!!
