Spring Break 2014

Tyler and I wanted to go on a vacation over Spring Break. We racked our brains trying to think of somewhere that was somewhat close were we could take the kids. We thought of driving to Vernal to Dinosaur Land, but decided the drive might be too long with a car-sick prone child. We seriously couldn't come up with any ideas, so we went with our default plan: The Land. I'm so glad we chose to go here because it was seriously one of the funnest Spring Breaks we have ever had!

We started out our vacation on Thursday. This trip was not in Caden's favor... poor kid. As we were loading the trailer, Caden was playing in it and leaned up against the door, which isn't very sturdy. He fell out of the trailer and landed face first on the concrete. Poor thing ended up with a swollen, bruised eye and a bad scraped up face.

He still looks happy, though! He's one tough kid.

We did a lot of fun things like have cookies and milk before bed time

 Watched movies on the couch...
Had a bath. This is the thing I love most about The Land. We can do all the fun "camping" things, like have a campfire, go four-wheeling, and be outside, but we can take a bath at the end of the day and not smell like a camper! :)
We went on a lot of walks.

And tried to feed the horses. We cut up apples and carrots for the horses, but they didn't want anything to do with them... picky horses!! Kayla decided to name the horses while we were there. This was her favorite horse: Apple Jack (from My Little Pony). She named the other horse Luna and Brownie.

We lost Makayla for a while and found her inside sleeping. Vacations are pretty tiring for a three-year-old!
One of the funnest parts was coloring Easter eggs at the Land. The kids had a blast.

Kay-Bugs did great at coloring her eggs, then later we added funny face stickers to them.

Caden was a great helper for a few minutes, but I think he ended up cracking more eggs than he actually colored.
He lost interest in coloring after a few minutes and ended up playing outside.

Can you guess who made this egg? Yep, thanks Tyler.

Bed time was interesting. Remember how I said Caden had a rough week? Well here's why. The first night we put him in the pack and play, but he is getting too big and ended up crying until we moved him. So the second night we put him on the bed and put pillows all around him. We woke up to a blood curdling scream and Tyler ran into his room. I heard Tyler calling for me to turn on the light. When I got into the room, Tyler said he couldn't find Caden. It took us a second before we realized he was under the bed. At some point in the night he had fallen off the bed. When Caden woke up he was trying to crawl around and got stuck under the bed. Needless to say, it was pretty traumatic for him and Tyler had to sleep with him for the rest of the night. This picture was taken before he fell out of bed, hence why he looks peaceful! :)
Kay-Bugs got to sleep in Grandma and Grandpa's bed. This worked out great until she peed the bed on our last night there. As Tyler said, she was just marking her territory.
I think we may have to make this a yearly tradition because we had so much fun.

 Happy Spring Break!!

Pull It!

We had another fun year at the trap shoot (aside from being exiled because of some crazy rumor that we were all sick... still trying to figure out who started that rumor and how it got so out of control... whatev).  It was freezing all three weeks, but we managed to stay warm in the trailer. The first week was probably the worst. Tyler got stuck shooting in an almost blizzard. He was soaking wet by the time he finished, and it took him all day to warm back up. The second and third week were slightly better, but we had to watch Daddy shoot from the truck because it was way too cold outside.  We did have a brief moment where the kids could play outside with bubbles,

I forgot my camera for two of the weeks, and these are the only pictures I took.
Tyler was a "B" shooter again this year, but he totally deserved to be an "A" shooter because he out-shot his A shooter every time.
I don't remember how Tyler did exactly, all I remember is Kay-Bugs adequately describing Daddy and Grandpa as "Sand-pakers" (sand-baggers.)

Let's hope next year we have better weather! Regardless of the weather,  we always look forward to the trap shoot and spending time with our family... for three weeks in a row!

Guess What?

We are THRILLED to announce Baby Evans #3 due September 21st!

Even though Caden doesn't look it, we are so excited to welcome another baby to our family! We don't plan on finding out what this one is, but just can't wait to snuggle another cute baby in our arms. The kids don't really get what's going on. If you ask Makayla what's in my belly, she tells us a baby, but I don't think she really understands what that means, and poor Caden is just oblivious to it all.

I'll have to post a pregnancy picture soon, but I'm 16 weeks today. I have been a little more sick with this baby compared to the other two and a lot more emotional. Poor Tyler has had to deal with my crying, worrying, and roller coaster emotions. Regardless, we can't wait for our last family member to make his/her debut!

Elmo Pa-ty

See this handsome little boy right here? He turned TWO years old this weekend.

We celebrated all weekend long. It started out on his actual birthday on Friday. He got to take his favorite treat, donuts, to Brooke's house to share with the kids. They sang happy birthday to him, and from what Brooke said, he had a lot of fun.

We picked up the kids from daycare and then let Caden decide where we were going to dinner that night. With the help of Makayla, he chose "The Enchilada" (AKA El Rancho). He ate his whole enchilada, then they brought him fried ice cream.

Caden loved it! After we went to dinner, we came home and opened presents.

Makayla was feeling a little J-E-A, so we took a picture of her by the presents too.
Caden got to open his presents from Mom and Dad. He got clothes, a new jacket, jammies, big boy underwear, and a potty seat.
But his favorite gift was the bat and ball set. Daddy tried to help him figure it out...
But Caden thought it was more fun to use the bat like he was playing pool.
We spent the rest of the night setting up for the big event: Caden's Elmo party. Caden told me back when we were planning Makayla's party that he wanted a "Elmo pa-ty." And what Caden wants, Caden gets (well in the birthday planning part of life!)

We decorated our basement. We had some goodies for people to much on like M & M's, cinnamon bears, and goldfish crackers (get it? Because Elmo sings, "Elmo loves his goldfish, his crayons too).

I made this for our game: Pin the nose on Elmo. I may need to come up with a new game because Carson told me at the party that we always play that game (and they always get the same treats in their goody bag).

I just love this picture of Caden. He was so proud and knew all of this was for him.

Makayla really struggled with all the attention that Caden was getting, so we got a picture of both of them.

I loved Caden's cake. They were cupcakes in the shape of Elmo's face.

Once everyone got to our house we had pizza and then moved into our game.

The kids did great, even Makayla and Caden (we didn't blindfold them), but Gage was the winner this time.

Here's some pictures of our amazing family who came to celebrate Caden's big day.

After the game Caden got to open his presents. We *Tyler* forgot to get pictures of Caden opening his gifts, but he got a Coupe car from Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Bob; animals, clothes, and a truck from Grandpa Craig and Grandma Terry; lego set from the Jones family; a dump truck from the Thomas cousins; clothes from Karly, Rico, and Ryan; jammies and a book from Aunt Karen; books from Emily and Brad; and money from Great Grandpa Collard, Gayle, and Great grandpa and grandma Evans. One thing is for sure, Caden is one spoiled little boy!

Then we sang Happy Birthday and Caden got to blow out his candle.

I think it's safe to say that the cupcakes may have been the highlight for our kids.

We had so much fun celebrating Caden's birthday this weekend. Now if I can just figure out how to make him stop growing up.

Happy Birthday Caden!

Our Handsome TWO year old

Today my sweet little baby is no longer a baby... he's two years old! Caden is the best little boy we could ever ask for. He is so good-natured, sweet, and just so handsome. Here's some of his 2 year pictures:

At two years old Caden:
  • Can talk in full sentences.
  • Is a little guy. He is still wearing 18 month clothes, and will be for a while.
  • Loves his stuffed dog, "Gus-gus," and taking care of his "baby". He insists on sleeping with them and a handful of other toys.
  • Loves to play with trucks and balls.
  • Idolizes Makayla and tries to do everything she does.
  • Tells people "Bye-bye" and blows kisses. He also tells us, "wov you mommy daddy"
  • Is a picky eater. He only eats cereal, mac and cheese, eggs, toast, fruit, and pizza.
  • Caden is a great sleeper. He goes down for naps and bedtime so easily.
  • Can give the meanest scowls.
  • When he wants you to carry him, he says, "I hold you!"
  • Caden is very sensitive. If he thinks you are mad at him, he covers his face and moaps.
Caden,

We love the little boy you are turning into. You are so sweet to us and to Makayla, even when she is being mean to you. We love to see the way you are figuring out the world around you. Mom and Dad's favorite time of the day is bedtime routine when we get to read you stories. We love how you have some of the books memorized already. Most of all, we love that you are part of our little family and that we get to call you ours for the rest of our lives!  Happy birthday Cader-tot! We love you so much!
