Our Busy May

May was incredibly busy this year, but oh so fun! Here's the random pictures from this month.

Here's a bunch of adorable pictures of Brynnli.  Brynn learned how to pull herself up on furniture awhile back, and now that is all she does. And yes, she is literally always this happy.

Until she gets high centered on the furniture. Then I make sure I take a picture before I help her.
We have been trying to give the kids more one-on-one time, so Kayla and Daddy went on a little date to see Cinderella. Tyler was out of town a few days before, so when he got home he surprised Makayla with flowers for her first date. It was the cutest thing ever. He is a keeper.

Makayla has a new friend, Kyra. She lives just a few doors down from us. They have become really good friends and hang out almost everyday. This particular day Kyra gave Makayla a make over.

I love that Makayla has a little friend to play with, but it makes me a little sad that she is starting to get to the point where she wants to play with her friends more than play with me and Caden.

Funny side note: We left to go to the library one day and accidentally left the front door unlocked. Kyra came to our house and just walked right in. She set off our alarm and then just left. The security company couldn't get a hold of me because my phone was on silent, so apparently three police cars showed up to our house and when through our house to make sure it was secure. I can only imagine what the neighbors thought. Good grief!

Kyra came over to our house later that day and I asked her if she came to our house. She said she did, so I said to her, "Did you know our alarm went off? They thought you were a burglar." Kyra responded with (keep in mind, she can't say her r's) "What's a boogla? Like a cheese boogla?" I laughed so hard!

Anyway, here's Kayla enjoying the one day this month that it didn't rain.
We got the kids in swimming lessons this month, and sadly this is the only picture I took of it.
Both Makayla and Caden did so well at their lessons, but I think swim lessons must have worn them out because we went to go check on Makayla before bed one night and found her like this...
I get that she was tired, but seriously? Who sleeps like this?

Caden was so worn out after swim lessons, he just couldn't make it through books. Tyler was also asleep, but he woke up as soon as I tried to take the picture, so I made him pretend to sleep, hence the smirky smile on his face.

The zoo has a special "Zoo-rasic" event going on so we have been to the zoo twice this month to see the dinosaurs. This one was Makayla's favorite dinosaur because it sprayed water.
Caden didn't like the dinosaurs, so he stayed in the stroller the whole time.  It took some major coaxing to get him to pose on this dino.

Is this the cutest picture ever? Rub-a-dub-dub three cuties in the tub.

The kids were getting ready to give me my Mother's day present. Caden is a little confused on the day, but I'll take it!
Great picture of me just waking up.
I can't figure out why they love to watch shows on such a small screen. I have told them I can get the same show on the big tv, but they still prefer to watch it on the ipod.

 All gussied up for church!
We bought a king size bed last year because the queen was too small when one of the kids would end up in our bed. We need a bigger bed now that all three kids end up in our bed. Poor Tyler got kicked out.
 Oh, my girls!
Our swing set is complete! We can't have anymore kids because there won't be any room for all of them to swing.

Whelp! May was great. Bring on June!

Makayla's Spring Dance Recital

On May 30th Makayla had her spring dance recital to officially end her first year of dance. We did a little fashion shoot of our little dancer before we left. Makayla is becoming such a diva. She kept telling me what she wanted to pose in front of, and then she would do a different pose at each spot!

We seriously have the most supportive family. 14 people total to see Makayla dance a 2 minute dance.
But it was a really great two minutes! I was so proud of Makayla. I could tell she was nervous, but she knew her dance and what move came next.
This is Makayla with her teacher, Miss Christy. She was really cute with the kids.
We made some great friends this year. Makayla loved dancing with Brielle, Kaylen, Kenzie, and Maelynn (not pictured). I really looked forward to talking with the other moms every Wednesday and then going to Arctic Circle after. And Caden and Brynnli were such troopers to sit there for an hour, but I think they had fun too.
After the performance, Makayla gave us all a private showing of her tricks in the hallway. SHOW-ING OFF!
We love our little dancer so much and look forward to many more years of dance!

Memorial Day

I always feel like summer officially starts when we head up to The Land for Memorial Day. This year it didn't feel like summer because it was still pretty cold, but we managed to have fun, like always.

Tracy and Jeremy bought a side-by-side and took the kids for their first ride in it. They loved it! We'll have to get our 4-wheeler and join them when we go up for the 4th of July.
The kids got to go for a ride on Snowflake again. Makayla loved Snowflake so much that she colored a picture for him the minute she got home.

We went for a walk to see the pigs.

And took a lot of naps. Gosh, I love these two. How cute are they all snuggled in the bed?
Makayla was so thoughtful and picked all the girls in the family some dandelions.
Carson was the best cousin and read the kids their stories. They loved it!
 Another great start to summer!

Brynnli is 8 Months!

This sweet little nugget turned 8 months old on May 23rd. We celebrated with a fashion shoot in her new swimsuit.

At 8 months Brynnli:
  • Still loves to eat. She is not picky about her baby food, she just loves her nummies.
  • Was sleeping through the night. Then she decided that wasn't fun anymore, so now she wakes up at least once a night and I get to soothe her back to sleep. At 5 am she is awake again and ready to eat, so I put her in bed with me and she eats and sleeps for another hour or two. Stay tuned next month to see if she's sleeping through the night or not; it's like a mystery.
  • Is crawling all over the house. She hates it if she is left alone in a room and will cry the saddest little cry until I come to get her. As soon as I pick her up she is fine.
  • Loves to play in Makayla and Caden's room and loves to tear down their Lego towers.
  • Is really attached to me. I knew this would be a "problem" because she is my only baby that will never go to daycare. I could pretend that I don't like it, but let's face it, I love that sometimes she just wants me!
  • Has a very high pitched scream when she's excited.
  • Still just the happiest baby. People comment on it wherever we go. Brynn is also just so chill. She doesn't complain when she gets dragged to preschool, dance, and errands with us.
We love our baby girl!

Field Trip to Wheeler Farm

Makayla had a field trip to Wheeler Farm. I was supposed to go with her, but I got a touch of the flu the night before, so Daddy got to go with her!
Here's some highlights from their day:

A Mother's Day Post

Four years ago I became a mom to our sweet Kay-bugs, and four short years later I am a mom to three adorable kids.
Being a mom is the best, most fun, and happiest thing I have ever done with my life. I am so lucky I get to be their mom. I love that they trust me to make them happy, to take away their fears and sicknesses, to protect them, to make them feel safe, and to teach them.

And even though I complain about it, I love that I watch "Jake the Pirate" more than "Grey's Anatomy." I go to the zoo more than the mall. I eat at Arctic Circle more often than Olive Garden. I dream about going to Disneyland more than Italy. We talk about "toodling" and diarrhea like it's a normal part of dinner conversations. And I get excited when baby food goes on sale.

I love that Makayla is my best friend and she knows how to do little things to make me smile.  I love when Caden ends up in our bed at night because he's scared, and by the morning I wake up to his feet in my face. I love that I haven't had a full night's sleep since Brynnli has been born because I get to hold her and rock her through the night. I love it all because they picked me for their mom and made all my dreams come true.
