It's December. You know, that time of the year where we can wear cozy clothes and stay in... like the other 11 months of 2020, but more festive.
Guess who came back to our house!!!? Kitty the Elf! Oh man, the kids were excited. We were all a little worried that because of Corona he wouldn't be able to come. Kitty did have to quarantine the first day he was here, but he was good to go after that.
Random story for you... A few months ago Caden was looking through old blog books and he came across a picture of Kitty and said, "Wow, Kitty the Elf hasn't changed a bit!" Truth.
We decorated our house for Christmas.
Caden was the lucky kid this year that got to put the star at the top of the tree. Do you know why Tyler is so fun to decorate with? He likes to make up funny words out of my blocks. Some of us found it funnier than others.
Our weekend tradition became watching a Christmas movie downstairs. We watched a lot of movies this month.
We also spent a few nights going around the city looking at Christmas lights.
Got my Christmas nails done. What? Everybody poops. Even Kitty.
We are so proud of Caden he got the Student of the Month award at school for being a true friend and smiling at others.
Lemons are super sour and El Rancho is super good.
Kitty set up a kissing booth with free Hershey kisses. He clearly has the princesses won over.
Hot chocolate, pajamas, and more Christmas lights. This time we went to the Tree of Life.
Kitty made elf sized s'mores for the kids.
And played games with Santa
I love when Tyler makes dinner. And our kids are so good to help.
The kids wrote letters to Santa. He took a few days to write back, but the kids all got letters back from Santa. Santa said the kids have been really good this year and that they might get a present or two from the list of things they asked for. Brynnli hosted another birthday party for her dolls. We love when Daddy comes because he has us all laughing so hard we can hardly breathe. Need proof? Look at Caden's face.
How sweet is Makayla reading to Brynnli? Makayla is seriously the best.
Date nights have gotten really romantic around here. Eating Cupbob in the car and finishing up Christmas shopping.
We got tickets to Christmas in Color again this year. It was the same as last year, but we had just as much, if not more fun.
Sunday Christmas is my favorite of the year. I love the songs and messages of hope and love as we think about Christ's humble birth.
We had our Christmas party with the Evans side of the family...Covid safe in the garage so we could be social distanced and get lots of air flow.
We even had a hot chocolate bar...Yumm!!
All of us were spoiled with a lot of clothes, Legos, and crafts. Tyler and I got a generator for the end of the world.
Instead of cleaning up, the kids turned themselves into tree decorations.
I got a new sign and we rotate who gets to make the sign for the week.
Brynnli informed me one day that she needed to go work out so she didn't look flubby for her friends.
Awww... they do love each other.
I remember just a few years ago sitting down with the kids to help them make their gingerbread houses, and now they don't need our help at all. I can't decide if I should be happy or sad about it.
Relaxing in the bathroom. Doesn't kitty know that toilet paper is scarce this year? We can't have elves just wasting it.
Kitty made his own gingerbread house.
We had a 3rd birthday party for the kids' Build-a-Bears.
And just like that we were ready for Christmas Eve and Day.
