A Whole Lot of Christmas Fun

It's Christmas time!! I love how cute our house looks like with all our Christmas decorations up. It's especially fun because we have a newly remodeled basement to figure out new decorations!

Our downstairs Christmas tree lights stopped working, so we went out looking for a new tree. Some of us were more excited than others.
But look how cute it turned out. I love that the kids decorate the tree by themselves with all their ornaments from the years.
And because we have to refer back to the blog book every year, this is to officially document that Makayla put the star at the top of the tree this year.

Another Jazz game with my favorite buddy! Unfortunately we had a lady behind us who kept yelling in our ears the whole time... but only when the Jazz were on defense. I'm pretty sure she was yelling "Defense" but it sure sounded a lot like, "Deamons!"

And it's not officially Christmas season until we watch Elf with hot chocolate! I love our fun traditions.

Christmas time means Kitty is back! Here's a few of the fun places we have found him this year:

It's our favorite Christmas Date! We love Kurt Bestor.
Brynn and I went to the women's gymnastics meet. She got face painting, meet Swoop and even got up on the big screen!

Meeting Santa to tell him what we're hoping will be under our tree this year.

And Christmas time is not complete without decorating ginger bread houses. Each house fit our kids' personality perfectly.

Even Kitty the Elf made one!
Caden finished up the winter season of basketball with Dream Team! This was a great group of boys and they played so well this season. They even made it to the first round of the playoffs!
We got to see Brynn sing in the school choir and with her 4th grade classmates. She's in the front row with the saxophone.
Christmas nails for the win! I wanted something that was not really Christmas, but kind of was... If that makes sense at all.
We had a fun family outing to see Beauty and the Beast at Hale Center Theatre. The play was so good and we were all amazed at the costumes and set design.
And our Christmas season would not be complete without driving around to see Christmas lights. The kids' favorite is the Whoville house.

Let the traditions continue!

So Much to Be Grateful For

It's Thanksgiving time around the Evans house and we have so much to be grateful for:

Makayla and Brynnli got to perform at the Copper Hills basketball half time as they participated in Azurette Mini's.

What would we do without Brynn leaving us motivational quotes around the house? This one says, "If you quit now you will never be proud when you finish." Wise words from our 10 year old.
So much to love in this picture. Makayla ornery... Brynn still fits in the cart... Caden just being happy Caden.
We got a little bit of a surprise one Sunday when the stake president called me and Tyler in and extended a calling to Tyler as the 2nd counselor in the bishopric! What a humbling experience it was from the initial shock, to prayerfully fasting and praying for guidance, to Tyler being sustained. It has been an one of the greatest joys of my life to walk along side Tyler and watch his testimony of Jesus Christ grow. Tyler is a great example to all of us in the family and we know he will do well in this calling. Tyler was able to be set apart by his Grandpa Bill, who is 93.
Had to take the opportunity to get a picture of all the William Evans in the family... because they don't get dressed up all that often.

And what a sweet moment watching Caden help Grandma Bonnie.

How many Swig drinks does this family need? The answer is 10.
Brynn's flexibility amazes me.
Caption this...
Family Fun Night with churros.
Caden has the greatest cheering squad at his basketball game. Go #35!

Don't quite know what Bella is doing here, but she sure is the cutest dog around.
Makayla and her friends did an impromptu fall photo shoot. I love that Makayla surrounds herself with such great friends.

Caden went to Tanner and Logan's birthday party. They had so much fun

And thanks to Donald Trump's victory as the 47th President of the United States, we can be unburdened from what has been.

Caden won the basketball game at Carson and Camden's birthday party.
For Thanksgiving this year we had my family over for dinner. I didn't get any pictures of all of us at dinner, but here we are before everyone arrived.

Tyler made our turkey in the rec tec and it was delicious!

Makayla asked us if we knew that the snowflake on the cell phone was a direct line to Santa... yes, she thought is was actually called thee snowflake button.
I love having a shopping buddy on Black Friday. Kneaders French toast is a must after a long morning of shopping. Hopefully Brynn will be able to join us in a few years!

Family Fun Night with dinner at Olive Garden and then to see Moana 2 at the movie theatre.

I love this cute family of mine so much!! Happy November
