Christmas Time is Here Again

Merry Christmas!!

We love this special time of year to spend time with our family. We love the sacred moments with our family of five and the loud family parties with the whole group. But we really just love this time of year to celebrate the birth of Christ.

We started out our fun with The 12 party. We hosted at our house this year and it was a complete blast!!

We had dinner thanks to Tyler's amazing smoking skills.
Then we opened presents from Grandpa Craig and Grandma Terry. Lucky for us we got the gift that lasts all summer long... season passes to Lagoon!
Brynn taught Colton how to do ballet... he should probably stick to baseball instead of dance.
Thanks to Tracy and Tyler's exceptional choreography skills, the kids have the perfect talent for the Christmas Eve party.
The kids practiced their perfectly times jumps multiple times to get the timing just right. Every time I hear the song "J-I-N-G-L-E-Bells" I will think of the kids' dance. And how great are these cousins. Even 18 year old Carson reluctantly participated this year.
Our favorite Christmas decoration is apparently Kitty's favorite too! We have the body and the Jones family has the head.
On Christmas Eve, the kids got to open an outfit from us.
Then we did some cute family photos

We are always so sad when its time for Kitty to go.
The weather has been surprisingly warm this winter with no snow in sight so the kids played outside.
Makayla really loves our new Christmas bell tradition.
And we can't forget our favorite dancing in the street to the accordion tradition.
We opened presents

Makayla was so excited to get her bum bum cream, but note that it is not to be used on your bum bum.

Then it was time to get ready for bed, set out cookies and milk for Santa and say our official goodbyes to Kitty.

When we woke up the next morning we were so excited to see what Santa brought us!

The stair picture is a must every year.
Santa didn't forget our favorite doggie! Toys and bones for Bella.

Caden got the electric scooter he wanted!
Makayla got a doll head so that she can practice doing hair.
Brynnli got all the baking kits she wanted and a surprise when she got the toy dog she was secretly hoping for.
They all got new blue tooth speakers.
Time out for a selfie of mom and dad. We look tired... and old.
Caden got a skateboard and the girls got insta cameras.

And we got a family gift of a retro popcorn machine for our movie night basement.
Brynn was so sweet and gave us Barbies that look like us.
What a mess, but what a fun morning!!
We spent the day playing with all our new toys.

Then the Evans family and my parents came over for dinner and more presents.

At the end of the night we all felt like Tyler
The week after Christmas is our favorite because we just spend the days at home. We had lots of fun movie nights with our new popcorn machine and our hot chocolate.

Tyler and I went on our "New Years Date" to reflect on the year and set our goals for the next year. Look at this cool radish. It looks like a watermelon.
I love Tyler so much and am so grateful for such a wonderful husband and father. He is the best example for our family, he works so hard, and he always makes us laugh. I couldn't have picked a better spouse.
We spent New Years Eve at The Land. Look how cool the trees look this time of year.
The kids made a snowman at the Land since there is no snow at home.
We spent our days going on the sleds

The kids thought this was hilarious. Tyler and I saw this idea online and thought we would try it. Table Nachos. No plates, just put the chips on the table, place the toppings and enjoy! Ok Maybe Makayla was slightly grossed out by it, but it was a core memory for sure.

Look at the aftermath!
More fun sledding down the hill and trying out our snow boards.

Then we counted down to midnight and cheered to welcome in 2025!!

What a great year! I will constantly be in awe of this life we get to live. It is truly a blessing and a privilege to raise these three kids with the most amazing husband by my side. Thank you 2024 for a humbling, amazing year full of ups and downs and the best family by my side.

A Whole Lot of Christmas Fun

It's Christmas time!! I love how cute our house looks like with all our Christmas decorations up. It's especially fun because we have a newly remodeled basement to figure out new decorations!

Our downstairs Christmas tree lights stopped working, so we went out looking for a new tree. Some of us were more excited than others.
But look how cute it turned out. I love that the kids decorate the tree by themselves with all their ornaments from the years.
And because we have to refer back to the blog book every year, this is to officially document that Makayla put the star at the top of the tree this year.

Another Jazz game with my favorite buddy! Unfortunately we had a lady behind us who kept yelling in our ears the whole time... but only when the Jazz were on defense. I'm pretty sure she was yelling "Defense" but it sure sounded a lot like, "Deamons!"

And it's not officially Christmas season until we watch Elf with hot chocolate! I love our fun traditions.

Christmas time means Kitty is back! Here's a few of the fun places we have found him this year:

It's our favorite Christmas Date! We love Kurt Bestor.
Brynn and I went to the women's gymnastics meet. She got face painting, meet Swoop and even got up on the big screen!

Meeting Santa to tell him what we're hoping will be under our tree this year.

And Christmas time is not complete without decorating ginger bread houses. Each house fit our kids' personality perfectly.

Even Kitty the Elf made one!
Caden finished up the winter season of basketball with Dream Team! This was a great group of boys and they played so well this season. They even made it to the first round of the playoffs!
We got to see Brynn sing in the school choir and with her 4th grade classmates. She's in the front row with the saxophone.
Christmas nails for the win! I wanted something that was not really Christmas, but kind of was... If that makes sense at all.
We had a fun family outing to see Beauty and the Beast at Hale Center Theatre. The play was so good and we were all amazed at the costumes and set design.
And our Christmas season would not be complete without driving around to see Christmas lights. The kids' favorite is the Whoville house.

Let the traditions continue!
