What a better way to start out our February blog update than a picture of our cutie puppy, freshly groomed.
I got a sneak peak of 2 of Makayla's dances because the girls performed at the Copper Hills Drill showcase. Their lyrical dance is my favorite and their hip hop dance is so fun. I can't wait for comp season!
Brynn and her best friend Hazel wrote a book together. It's called, "The Pig who ate Bacon" and let me tell you, it is a page turner!! Not only did the girls show that they know irony, but they made the book funny too! The girls are so cute and so creative together. The book was complete with illustrations, and a "about the authors" page.
While Makayla and I were celebrating her friend party, Tyler took the other two to Kneaders for breakfast.
Super Bowl means we get to celebrate Tyler and Jeremy's birthday. On Tuesday nights Tyler, Makayla, and Caden are all at church activities, so me and Brynn get to spend one on one time together. This particular night we went to get some donuts and Brynn told me all about life in the 4th grade.
Caden is playing another season with Dream Team. We love watching our #35. Caden is doing so great in basketball. He even practices on his days off. Caden shows a lot of dedication and hard work to the sport he loves.
Competition season is officially here. The girls performed their solos for the first time at America Onstage. Brynn is doing a wedding themed jazz dance. I love her costume. Brynn did great at took 1st place!
Makayla is doing a contemporary piece called, "Life as a dream". It is basically a poem and Makayla is really having to stretch her story telling skills and emotional expression. Her dance is so beautiful! I think I say this every year, but her solo this year is my favorite solo she has ever done. Makayla also got 1st place at this competition.
I hosted a CNO night. This was the first cousin night out where all 10 girl cousins were able to come. I was always jealous that I never had any sisters, but these cousins help me to feel like I do have sisters. They are all such good examples to me. Many of them have been through really tough times, and their strength is admirable. We always have a great time and laugh a lot when we get together.
All three kids ended up having their orthodontist appointments on the same day. It was so nice to take them all together. It looks like Caden will be getting his second set of braces later this year and Makayla and Brynnli should be getting their's off in the next few months!
Also, you are never too old to color at the orthodontist office.
Church ball is in full swing again this year. Caden loves to spend all Thursday nights playing with the deacons and if the older kids don't have enough players to make a team, Caden gets to play with them too.
This one particular night Caden was playing with the priests, who are 15-18 years old and obviously much taller than Caden. Caden was getting frustrated and one of the kids on his team pulled him aside during a time out and told him to get open and he would throw the ball to him. The play worked perfectly and Caden was able to score a few baskets. I tell ya, sometimes teens get a bad rap, but there are some amazing kids in this world.
Brynn is ready for spring in her new neon pink dance wear.
Caden's turn to go to the Jazz game with a free crubml cookie!!
