Four Generations

We took a four-generation picture on Tyler's side of the family this last weekend.
William Reid, William Craig, William Tyler (are you noticing a pattern here?) and Makayla Kathleen.
Tyler is the 5th William Evans in his family. If we ever have a boy we will continue the tradition... if we end up having all girls, our last girl will be named Billie! :)

March in a Nutshell

This is a nutshell...
My life in a nutshell consists of taking care of this adorable little girl!

Tomorrow Makayla turns 8 weeks old, so I thought I would post some of the things our cute little 8 week old does.

First of all this...
Makayla sleeps... A lot! At about 4 weeks old, she started sleeping through the night... Yippie! Occasionally she gets up at midnight, but that is usually only once a week. Makayla goes to bed anywhere between 8 and 10 pm. At 5 am I usually end up waking her up to eat (selfish on my part, but I need relief) :) Tyler is usually getting up around that time, so I put her in bed with me and she falls asleep while I watch the news. Makayla gets up around 8 ish and I get her dressed and we play (well, really she just stares at the toys, but it's playing in my mind). Then about 11 she eats again and goes down for a nap. This is usually when I get things done, but usually its when I facebook and blogstalk. The rest of the day is spent either eating or sleeping.

The other day we ventured to the store. When we got back Makayla was asleep in her car seat and I didn't want to risk waking her up, so I let her sleep in there for a while. About an hour later I heard her fussing and went over to check on her and this is how I found her:
Instead of being a good mom and fixing her bow right away, I took the time to find my camera and take a picture.

The other thing Makayla does really well... eat. She is getting cute little fat rolls all over! I just love her double chin and chubby cheeks

Recently Makayla has started to smile when we talk to her. I know I already posted this picture, but I love her smile and chubby face!
Makayla loves her swing now! We will put her in her swing and either turn on the piano or the t.v. She loves it! She's probably too young for t.v., but it keeps her mezmorized for awhile, and besides, a little Dr. Phil or Teen Mom 2 never hurt anyone! She's probably learning some valuable life lessons as Dr. Phil would say.
We went up to the big city a few weeks ago and visited the family. This is Makayla with her cousins Carson and Colton.
And with her cousins Hannah, Maddie, and Sadie.
She also got to see her cousins Gage and Brayden, but I forgot to get pictures.

Tyler's family came down for a weekend and we had fun going to the park and playing games. This isn't the best picture, but it was pretty hard getting 3 kids to look at the camera at the same time.
Other than that, we spend our days doing the usual day to day things. Some days I get a little bored, but I sure do love taking care of our little girl!

Makayla's Newborn Pictures

We finally got Makayla's newborn pictures back. They all turned out so cute! I just can't believe how much she has already changed since we had these taken 3 weeks ago.

Happy Birthday Tyler

On February 16th, Tyler turned the big 28! We tried to spoil him as much as we could on his special day!
I made Tyler breakfast before he went to work...
And Makayla wore  a special shirt for Dad... it says "Daddy Adores Me"
When Tyler got home from work we had dinner. We had manacotti, salad, bread, and cookies. Then Tyler got to open his presents. I mostly gave him workout stuff

And Makayla gave daddy a card and a picture frame for his office
As you can see all the excitement from Dad's birthday wore Makayla right out!
Hope you had a great birthday Tyler! Thanks for being the best husband and dad. We love you!

Be Mine

We had a fun Valentine's day this year. We celebrated the whole weekend and into Monday. On Saturday Tyler made us dinner since we couldn't go out to eat with little Miss Makayla. He is quite the chef! He made steak, shrimp, and salad. Yummy!!
Don't let this cute little face fool you... just as we were sitting down to eat, Makayla decided to scream the entire meal. We spent the rest of the meal scarfing our food so that one of us could hold her.
After dinner (and the screaming episode) Tyler and I settled down to watch a movie. Sadly I couldn't tell you what the movie was about or even what it was called because I was asleep about 15 minutes into it.

Monday (Valentien's Day) we had Makayla's 2 week check up. She is doing great. She now weighs 9 pounds and is 21 inches long. Her weight is in the 68% and her length is in the 72%.

When we got home from the doctor, we had an easy dinner of Papa Murphey's Pizza and opened presents. Makayla got spoiled with gifts from her grandparents

 Tyler got a CD

And I got a cute necklace with a little ring that has Makayla's birthstone!

We watched another movie that night... and luckily I was able to stay awake through the whole thing this time... but even more exciting was that Makayla didn't scream and went to bed early that night! Best Valentine's gift from her.

Lastly... I just have to share this cute picture. Tyler is the cutest dad to Makayla. He read her a story the other night before bed... too cute!

Happy Valentine's Day!!
