October Fun

Caden ended his first season of baseball. He loved playing, and we loved watching him play. Caden is really good at baseball and is definitely a leftie. We are sad that baseball is over, but ready to try a new sport!

Caden had a great cheering squad every game. We love watching our Buddy do what he loves!

All of the cuties had their well check ups this year. They are all doing great and growing just like they should!

Dr. visits mean that we get ice cream after!
The kids are just a little bit obsessed with the movie "Captain Underpants". Caden made a cape and underwear one night and all the kids thought it was hilarious. Tyler and I could do without the never ending potty talk, but we thought it was pretty funny too.

For mutual one night we got to serve at the food bank. It is really humbling to see all the youth volunteer their nights to help.
This was one of my last activities with the young women because I got called to be the Primary President... what? I have no idea what I'm doing, but I am enjoying the new calling. I love that I get to be in primary with all of my kids.

Bathroom selfie on a good hair and make up day... I have no shame.
Brynnli got to go on her first field trip to the corn maze. She had fun for about the first 10 minutes, then she wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. It was super muddy and she didn't like the mud being on her shoes.
 Brynn's cute preschool class.

 Awww... she does love me!

Makayla won a raffle prize and got to miss school to ride in a LIMO to get pizza with her principal. She was so excited about it!

Tyler and I got to go on our last concert date for the year. We ended on a good one... Thomas Rhett.

It was probably one of my favorite concerts of the year. I sang my heart out! Plus, any time I get to spend with this guy is a great day. I love the life we have created together!

You know those projects that never seem to end? Tyler and I (ok, it was just Tyler doing all the work) started the shed project earlier this year. Our summer was crazy busy and before we knew it, it was October. We wanted to get the cement poured before the winter snow, so we hired it out.

How cute are our kids' hand prints in the cement?
Yea for this part of the project being done. Hopefully next spring we will get our shed and then we will move on to the next project... the garage makeover!

And just for your enjoyment, here's a few pictures that will give you a good laugh.

I feel like Tyler has been adequately warned...

I have to wonder what Makayla is learning at school? Regardless, it's a "crappy" day for all the people... but also, what are the people eating?

Dinosaur Land

Tyler and I wanted to take our kids on a little vacation this year over Fall break. We decided Dinosaur Land in Vernal, Utah would be a great choice this year because Makayla was learning about dinosaurs at school, and Caden really likes reading about dinosaurs. We decided to spend a few days at Hanna before and after.

Doesn't this picture just remind you of fall?

We got to Vernal, ate some lunch, and then headed to the Quarry.  I think the kids like the statues of dinosaurs better than they liked the bones.
We took a short bus ride up to the quarry.

The quarry was pretty cool. There are over 12,000 dinosaur bones in this one section of the mountain.

They even have a real dinosaur bone that you can touch.

Brynnli was obviously very interested in the quarry.

The kids got an activity book that helped them learn different things about dinosaurs. After it was completed they had to take the pledge and then they were issued their official Dinosaur Land Jr. Ranger badge. They thought it was pretty cool!
I love us. And I love that we get to explore new and different places together as a family.
After the Quarry, we took a drive to see the petroglyphs .

Then we headed back to town to visit the dinosaur museum.

I think the kids had the most fun here. They loved pretending to be scared of dinosaurs. Good thing they haven't seen any of the Jurassic World movies or else they would really been petrified.... hey, Jurassic Park could happen.

This picture might be my favorite of all.
The fall colors were absolutely gorgeous!
We drove around the Vernal Temple.
Back at our hotel we had pizza and then spent the rest of the night swimming in the pool. Then it was off to bed.

The next morning we drove back to Hanna. We had so much fun as a family doing what we love to do at what has become our second home. We danced to music, went on 4 wheeler rides, and went for a long "hike".

Daddy taught all the kids how to shoot a BB gun.

Okay, I just love everything about this picture. Caden found some sticks and made them into drums. He would play his "drums" while Tyler played the accordion. Just look at the way they are looking at each other!
 We painted a craft

Brynnli pretended to fish with her stick fishing pole.

And of course we couldn't leave without setting up Marshmallow and Chocolate as a surprise to Grandma and Grandpa.

Fall break was just what we needed this year. It was so much fun to spend time with our cute little family and go someplace new and different. I can't wait for our many more adventures!
