July

One of my favorite things about our kids is that they like to make up shows and dances and perform them for me and Tyler. Some of them are really creative. This was one of their trampoline performances with the final pose. I love that these three have such a great bond (most of the time)

The dreaded part of summer arrived... the kids had to go to swimming lessons. The last few years Makayla has been super scared of swimming lessons and dreads them for months. This year I think she finally is getting over her fear. She did so great at her lessons and was even brave enough to jump off the diving board! I am so proud of her for acknowledging her fear and working through it.
Caden did really well in swimming lessons this year too and had no worries jumping off the diving board and loved to go down the slide during free time.

Brynnli liked her lessons too. Her teacher told me her goal was to get Brynnli to smile at her one time... it didn't happen.

We went to 7-11 on 7-11 for Free Slurpees, but it was totally not worth it. The line was long, I was ornery, and the Slurpees were melted. That will teach me to wait until the end of the day.
We went to Kids Club for a Luau party where all the kids got their face painted.
Well Brynnli opted to get her arm painted.

This is the flower bed at Terry and Craig's. How cute is that? Go Utes!
It's almost back to school time... what? I wanted to take each kid on a special date to pick out new clothes. I let each of them choose where they wanted to eat. I loved each one-on-one date and especially loved hearing all the fun stories each kid tells me.
This girl loves to take a bath. In fact every time she toodles, she tells me she needs a bath. She can be in there for hours just pretending and playing with random toys.
To celebrate Pioneer Day, we had a picnic at Wheeler Farm then went to see the animals.

We love seeing the ducks and bunnies

To end the night we played Mario Wii and had Pie and Root Beer... get it? "Pie 'n beer" day!

Then it was this Handsome boy's turn to go back to school shopping. I love going with Caden because he would tell me some of the most random stories, but it was so fun to go with just him. He picked Red Robin for dinner
When we went to Target he saw this Yoshi plush and he begged me to get it. How could I say no?
I told Caden he could pick anywhere to go to get a treat. I thought he would choose the gas station like the other kids, but he wanted a cupcake with a lot of frosting, so that's exactly what we did!

Check out the muscles on this girl! Cheer is making her tough!
To end our fun July adventures, we went with some of our friends to the kids summer movie!

Collard Family Reunion

Tyler's uncle and aunt, Roger and Lani were in town with their family, so we headed up to Tammy and Bruce's cabin and had our very first Collard Family Reunion. I know I took more pictures of our events, but they must be on Tyler's phone. We had so much fun going on 4 wheeler rides, playing tournaments and card games, and eating lots of great food.

Lani made everyone matching shirts, so we took a lot of family pictures.
Here's the whole group.
The whole true and blue family
Grandpa Collard with all 9 of his great grandkids.

 Collard with all 6 grandkids.

 And our family
All the fun family adventures had our kids feeling exhausted!

Red, White, and Blue

Happy 4th of July! We had a great weekend full of fun, fireworks, and of course family! On the actual 4th of July we played in our backyard, went to a bar-b-q and Grandma Kathy and Grandpa Bob's, then went to Sandy City to watch the fireworks.

The next day we headed up to The Land. The kids got to work mowing the lawn.

 And putting up the flag.
We went to dinner at the Hanna Hilton.

The next morning Makayla, Tyler, and Craig ran the Tabi 5K and Craig won 1st place in his age division... granted he was the only person in his age division, but we were proud of him, nonetheless.

After the run we headed to the parade. I say this every year, but I love the Tabi parade. It started late, the floats went around twice, the kids got a lot of candy and toys, and we were done in an hour.

Awww.... look at my cute posers.

Tyler and Grandpa Craig taught the kids how to fish.

We went on a ride in the side-by-side and I swear we have never been so dusty. Brynnli fell asleep on the ride, then it started raining. Being the mom that I am, I didn't want her to wake up from the rain, so what did I do? Put her in my shirt. I felt like a kangaroo mom with her all nestled in my pouch.
See? Told ya, I've never seen us that dusty in my life!

The Jones Boys had baseball tournaments and as soon as they were over, they headed up to the Land.

What a great week spent with my favorites!
