This Year is Boo Sheet

I saw this post on Facebook and I laughed so hard. This year really is Boo sheet.
We got a new heater/ AC and water heaters in our house and we got a discount for paying cash. I have never held so much cash in my hands at one time. All $12,000 to be exact.

Matching masks. What a world we live in.
Caden clearly enjoyed his chocolate ice cream.
We had family movie night and watched Hocus Pocus. Makayla made brownies for our movie night. Have you ever tasted one of her famous brownies? They are so good!!

Do you know what date night consists of lately? Sneaking out of the house on a Saturday night in our pajamas to go to Arctic Circle to get ice cream, then eating it in the church parking lot. So romantic.
I wouldn't let Brynnli sit by me at church one day because Makayla and Caden were already sitting by me and I didn't want to play musical chairs. Well about half way through Sacrament, Brynnli drew this picture. It was a girl with a sad face crying. Stink bugs always manages to find a way to get what she wants, because when I saw her picture, I made the other kids move so Brynnli could sit by me. Once Brynn was sitting by me, she was happy again. Seriously, this girl.

Caden got to go to school on a Friday for small group work, so I took the girls to the park.

Makayla's hair is so pretty! Check out this fish tail braid.
How cute are these two playing card games. I love that Tyler is working from home now. This is what his breaks look like now.
School pictures!! Our kids are so stinkin cute!!

It was crazy hair day at school. Makayla saw this idea for a bun spider that turned out pretty cute.

Brynnli wanted lots of bows in her hair.
Caden didn't really want to do crazy hair, but he finally agreed to do it crazy spikey.

This year really is boo sheet. But there are so many good things too. The kids are still in school, which I am surprised at, but so grateful for. They like seeing their friends at school and they really thrive in the classroom (as opposed to learning at home). Tyler still works from home, which he and I both love so much (seriously, I hope he can work from home always). I am subbing once a week and it has been so nice to have something to break up the week. We try to do lots of things together as a family and we always try to eat breakfast and dinner together.

But there are a lot of scary things. Covid cases are going up at an alarming rate. At the end of October there were 114,656 total cases in Utah and 604 deaths. Nationally there are over 10 million cases of Corona virus and 238,000 deaths. Elections are next month and there is so much uncertainty and anxiety. Donald Trump is running against Joe Biden. The country is so divided and there are rumors of riots if either of the candidates wins. I will continue to have faith that everything will work out the way its supposed to.

This is Halloween

Halloween is so different this year, but we still tried to have our normal traditions.

We carved pumpkins with the Jones family and Grandpa Craig and Grandma Terry.

Our kids are getting so big and didn't need our help. Sad.

Aren't their final pumpkins so cute? They all did such a great job.

The pumpkins look so good on our porch.
Makayla wanted to bake something a little more difficult than brownies, so she made spider cookies. They were delicious! I think we have a baker in our family.

The kids got to dress up for Halloween at school. Brynnli was Jasmine
Makayla was Hermione from Harry Potter.
And Caden was Harry Potter

These two are so cute. I love that they both love Harry Potter so much.

We had our traditional mummy dogs and chili for dinner. This time we had pumpkin soup bowls.
Tyler made this out of hot dogs and ketchup. Looks so real and so gross!

Then we were off to trick or treat. There was a lot of uncertainty with going trick or treating. A lot of people thought it was risky to hand out or get candy, so a lot of houses were dark. We didn't have a lot of trick or treaters come to our house either, so we have so much candy left over.

Tyler said if he had to wear a mask to go around the neighborhood, he was going to wear a costume to go with it. Tyler is a corona patient.

Even though the kids had to work harder and walk farther to get their candy, they still managed to get ridiculous amounts of candy. Good thing we have dental insurance.

As if we weren't on enough of a sugar high, Makayla made mummy brownies for us.

And Tammy gave us monster donuts.

Happy Halloween!
