April 4th is a very special day for two reasons: 1) It is Easter Day and 2) it is Caden's Birthday!! Caden has been so excited for his Easter Birthday this year. In fact in the weeks leading up to Easter, I think everyone around us, random strangers, and all of his teachers knew that his birthday was on Easter because he would tell everyone we would talk to. The next time Caden's birthday falls on Easter will be in 2083, so this year is pretty special.
We started out the night before by coloring Easter Eggs
Then the kids all set out their Easter baskets and went to bed hoping the Easter Bunny would come in the morning.
As per tradition, I set Caden's presents next to the fireplace and went to bed
But when we woke up in the morning, Caden's presents were gone and in its place was his Easter Basket and a bunny cake. We couldn't figure out what was going on, but quickly figured out the Easter Bunny must have taken Caden's birthday presents and hid them instead of hiding his Easter basket. For Caden's Easter present he got some Legos, and treats.
As we started looking for the girl's baskets, Caden started to find his birthday presents in random places like his bathroom, laundry room, and even in the fridge.
Brynnli found her present easily in our new pantry. She got some new barbies, bath toys, and treats.
Makayla had to look for a long time and finally found her basket hiding under the downstairs couch. She got some crafting window decals, a blow up ball, and some treats. Caden gathered all of his presents and opened them. He got the Mario Lego Castle he had been wanting, plus some clothes, and the Dr. Seuss Birthday book.
Makayla made her famous brownies and decorated them for Caden's birthday.
After we got the kids ready it was time for the photo shoot. I love that Caden is willing to pose with Brynnli.
As for Makayla? She's not very happy to pose with these two cheezers.
Then we headed off to my parent's house for dinner and the Easter egg hunt.
Ryan's boys and Maddie look so excited. It's sad when the kids get older because the older cousins didn't want to do the egg hunt this year. That's ok, because our kids had a blast and got more money and candy than they know what to do with.
Each kid got a Golden Egg with $10.
Then it was off to Terry's house for another egg hunt with the cousins.
After the egg hunt we sang Happy Birthday to Caden and he got to blow out the candles on his brownie and open his presents from Grandpa Craig and Grandma Terry.
Then somehow we all started a massive game of dodge ball. It was hilarious and so much fun.
To end our fun Easter night we made Peep cars thanks to Louise (Bruce's mom)
