July Fun

I loved this night. We were downstairs and the girls were making up dances. They were being so funny. I love the look of pure joy on Makayla's face and I love the way Brynnli looks at Makayla and idolizes her so much. I love these girls of mine!

Caden even joined in on the fun. 

We started cousin day. We get with the Joneses and Chavezes and go to a swimming pool or a splash pad every Wednesday. The kids love it and we love being able to catch up. 

I hope these two realize how lucky they are to have each other. I would give anything to have a sister who I could tell secrets and jokes to. I love the bond these two have. 

Darren came over for a family party and he brought his bunny. Our kids were in heaven. They want a pet so badly.

Looks like someone found my phone. 

I took the kids to Classic Skating. We were there for hours and our kids had so much fun. Brynnli played a game and won over 400 tickets. 

 We went to Draper Days to listen to James Taylor and Elton John songs. Then they had fireworks. It was a fun night out. 

Tyler's work did a family party at Snowbird. We got to do all sorts of fun things like rock climbing

We took a tram all the way up the mountain. It was such a pretty view.

Then as soon as we got home Tyler and I headed to the Garth Brooks concert. Garth Brooks came to town a few years ago, and we didn't go and I have always regretted it. So when I heard he was coming again, I tried to get us tickets, and luckily I was able to get 2 tickets before the concert sold out. I later heard the concert sold out in under 30 minutes which is the fastest sell out Ticketmaster has ever had. We heard traffic and parking were going to be bad, so we decided to take Trax. 

Well, so did the other 50,000 people who were going to the concert. 

Things probably would have been fine, but there was a fire by one of the trax stations and all the trax trains were stopped. When we finally got going again, people kept trying to get on the train and things kept getting more and more crowded. 

Then things got more crazy when everyone showed up to the concert at the same time because all the trax trains dropped off at the same time. This was the line to get in. Tyler and I started to get nervous about the crowds because people started to get anxious that they were going to miss the show. 

We finally made it into the stadium. 

Garth Brooks waited until most people were there before he started the show. 

Our tickets were pretty much on the last row, but we had such a fun time. Garth Brooks is seriously one of the best entertainers we have ever seen. It was one of the best shows we have ever been to. 

My favorite part is when he let people in the audience choose what songs he would sing. People held up posters with their song choice and he would sing them. He even sang songs that weren't his. It was seriously the best concert and I'm so glad we could go. 

It took a long time to get to the concert, but even longer to get home. We finally made it home about 2 am. Crazy, right?

More days at the pool. 

Just doing a little back to school shopping. 

The mannequins at Kohls are looking more lifelike these days. 

Late night run to get snowcones. 

Makayla wanted to babysit Mason, so Karly and Rico dropped him off at our house so Makayla could practice babysitting with adult supervision. Makayla and Caden had so much fun with him. Mason is really into superheroes, so they dressed him up as Captain America. 

Caden read him books and they played legos. 

You know you are tired, when you can fall asleep this way. 

And you know its summer when you have tan lines. 

Swimming lesson time! The kids are getting to be quite the good swimmers. I told Makayla she had to do one more year of lessons, so this was her last year. 

One of our favorite Utah gymnasts, Mykayla Skinner made the US Olympic team. Simone Biles ended up not being able to compete, so Mykayla ended up competing in the vault and got a silver medal. Since the Olympics are in Tokyo this year, the competition was on at like 3 a.m. Guess who stayed up all night to watch it? Yep. It was so worth it. 

A little flash back to December 2018 when Makayla got to meet Mykayla in person. Now Makayla can say she has met an Olympic Gymnastic Medalist!!
